Daniel J. Carlin, M.D.
Dr. Dan Carlin is the Founder and CEO of JobSiteCare, an innovative medical/telemedical practice caring for injured workers while supporting the operational needs of their employers. For the last 25 years, Dr. Carlin has been national leader in the field of telemedicine and a recognized pioneer in the delivery of medical care to distant populations, including foreign and USA-based construction, manufacturing, and energy extraction worksites.
Prior to founding JobSiteCare, Dr. Carlin established WorldClinic, a global telemedicine practice caring for ships, islands and mobile executives. It was his experience in caring for a remote island workforce that formed the basis of the telemedical care model for industrial workforces in the USA and abroad.
Dr. Carlin is a 1981 graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and a 1985 physician graduate of the Tufts university School of Medicine. On completion of his schooling, he served in the US Navy as both surgical intern at Bethesda Naval Hospital and later in the Atlantic Fleet as the ship’s medical officer for the guided-missile nuclear cruiser USS Mississippi (CGN-40). He has been a board-certified emergency physician since 1994.
Dr. Carlin is a frequent speaker to audiences in risk management, technology and medical innovation. He has spoken at institutions such as the MIT Media Lab, the United States Naval Academy, and professional conferences such as the American Telemedicine Association and the International Development Council.
Dr. Carlin’s work has been featured in Business Week, Forbes, Fortune, FT, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Worth. Dr. Carlin has also been a guest speaker on The Today Show, Dateline NBC, and The Oprah Winfrey Show.
